Therapists for college students near University of Minnesota
I meet clients where they are at by building upon existing strengths and providing a nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and growth. I value honesty, empathy, curiosity, and humor in my practice. The foundation of my work uses person-centered and relational therapy techniques. I may pull from psychodynamic, solution-focused, or narrative therapy. My therapeutic approach is for those looking for support, self-reflection, alternate perspectives, and accountability. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults for individual therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship dynamics, life transitions, and confidence. I believe authentic conversations about identity, including exploration of sexuality, gender, race, and class are an important part of our therapeutic work together.

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating and other feeding concerns. I practice from a weight inclusive and non-diet lens and I love instilling confidence and knowledge in clients as they strive towards peace with food and body. I truly believe everyone is capable of cultivating an enjoyable and intuitive relationship with food given the right tools and support.
Hello! We're Dennis, Maddy, Korey, and Matt. We believe that while life is hard, every human being has the potential to surmount stress and strain. Whether you're experiencing burnout, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, chronic illness, cancer, trauma, relationships issues, professional issues, or other concerns, our goal is to help you find meaning, self-respect, growth, and resilience. We're passionate about helping you increase your ability to weather and recover from difficult moments in the future. We'll do this by leveraging your strengths and building your coping skills to help you manage stress and create a life you want to live. Our approach stems from the belief that all humans have innate value and worth, and that all behaviors meet a need. We’ll work with you to examine the bio-psycho-social factors that influence your overall wellness, and we'll use empathy, authenticity, a non-judgmental stance and science-driven interventions to unlock and harness your internal resilience. Therapy can be a confusing and scary endeavor, and we take seriously the fact that you're putting your trust in us. Our therapists are happy to speak with you to address any questions about our services and to get to know each other more. When Henry Thoreau gazed at the summer tree and said that “the tenderest fruit needs the tenderest handling,” as a therapist, I believe it's equally true to our mind and our experiences. My role as the therapist is to create a safe and intentional space for you and to lean into the inner strength that may be shadowed by past wounds, present stress, or the hopelessness of the future. My clients include individuals who have experienced trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, sexuality struggles, or any adjustment issues. It is my passion to support clients of Asian descent and Chinese international students with racial identity and acculturation challenges. My vision for this work is driven by being a first generation Chinese immigrant and my professional experience. When I am not working, I enjoy keeping my egg-laying hens, working on my vegetable garden, biking, and cooking authentic Chinese food for my family.
I help teens, college students, young adults, and families navigate the stresses associated during important transitional life experiences. I embrace the uniqueness of every individual by recognizing that their experiences, beliefs, goals, and values are deeply personal. Therapy becomes a collaborative experience where we navigate life's complexities. I understand the importance of attachment and culture in each person's life and bring these unique elements in to the sessions. Therapy is a partnership and I am here to walk through the journey together!
