Hi, I’m Lauren Hugunin, MFTC, and I know that college is a time of huge transitions—academically, socially, and personally. You might be navigating new relationships, exploring your identity, or dealing with the pressures of dating, sex, and intimacy. On top of that, shifting family dynamics can bring their own challenges, whether it's increased independence, lingering expectations, or navigating difficult conversations about who you are becoming. I provide a safe, affirming space where you can process these experiences without shame or judgment. Whether you’re struggling with communication in your relationships, working through past experiences that impact intimacy, or feeling tension with family as you grow into your own person, I’m here to support you. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Let’s work together to help you build confidence, set boundaries, and create relationships that truly align with who you are. I work with teen and adult individuals from a humanistic, somatic, mindfulness based perspective. It is my belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is a guiding force in the healing process and an essential component for clients to more deeply access themselves. In our time together, we will increase awareness around your relationship to self, relationship patterns with others, how you work to notice and process feelings, how you relate to past wounds and trauma and how you regulate through stressful times. Together we will increase your capacity to compassionately trust and come back to yourself over and over again. I offer a compassionate presence to hold space for whatever you are carrying; especially for people who identify as women. I work with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD and family conflict in addition to dealing with the every day stresses of life. My goal is to support you so that you can feel more equipped to show up fully in your life.

Pamela French Newman (she/her/hers), graduated in May 2022 with a Masters Degree from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Somatic Counseling Program with a concentration in Body Psychotherapy. Pamela’s approach to counseling is strength-based, humanistic, relational, and mind/body-centered. She focuses on working with the nervous system as a way to work towards emotional regulation. Before coming to Naropa she spent five years teaching yin, restorative, and trauma informed yoga in the Boston area. Through her own personal practice as well as teaching yoga, her curiosity around the healing powers of the mind-body connection grew. Her first hand awareness of the mind-body connection as a therapeutic tool led her to find Somatic Counseling which is a form of psychotherapy that values this connection.

Hi, I'm Jonathan. I'm a down-to-earth, easygoing guy. Beyond that, I'm also a therapist. I often find myself working well with those hoping to get more out of life, whether that involves building confidence, developing good relationships, creating positive habits, understanding your identities, or adjusting to new life circumstances. I'll listen without judgment to really understand you, but also gently push you to be the best version of yourself. After all, we're here to solve problems and find solutions. While therapy can look a lot of different ways, I've found that transparency, humor, and consistency are a few of the key ingredients. Personally, I have felt how transformative therapy can be (despite my initial skepticism). My hope is to be able to offer that to others too. You can connect with me by phone, email, or my website to schedule a free consultation. Let's see if we're a good fit.

Who I work with: - People who are fired up and ready to do this - “Refugees” from conventional eating disorder treatment who are ready to finally get to the root of the issue - Folks with some sass, fire, and rebelliousness (with a soft and sensitive core) - Quirky go-getters, nerds and misfits, and outsiders with undercover witchy tendencies - People who want better relationships, emotional resiliency skills, and a healthier relationship with food and their body - People who’ve tried talk therapy and have an inkling there’s something more: a deeper, more soulful connection to themselves and all their inner parts. *I welcome folks of all identities and sizes How I work: Is it frustrating for you when people tell you to “just let it go” or “be kinder to yourself”? As if there were some switch you could flip…if you just weren’t so stubborn / clueless / goofy. First up: there is no such switch. (If there were, someone would have patented it by now). Second up: suggestions like this, no matter how well-intentioned, almost never work. They can also leave us feeling frustrated and like failures. Self-compassion and emotional healing are trickier than most people (or cutesy magnets) would have you believe. Myth: Just talk through why you feel this way and you problem will vanish. Truth: Real healing takes more than head-knowing. It’s a whole-bodied affair. This is why typical talk therapy - where you come in, sit on a couch, share how you feel - often falls short. You leave feeling like "ok, I feel a little better, but now what?" So I work a little differently. Still talk, still insight, but more connection to body, intuition, and emotions. We get beyond the "why" and get to the actual "how" of real change. You can read more about my approach at www.stephaniesmallhealth.com. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and nutritionist. I received my BA from Yale University, my MSW from Smith College for Social work, and certificates in Holistic Nutrition Education and Mental Health Nutrition from Bauman College and the Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition. I ran the nutrition program at a substance abuse recovery center in Denver for two years and have trained in trauma therapy, internal parts work, somatic therapies, and more. I currently maintain a private practice online and in Boulder and Denver, CO, write for national and local publications, consult for mental health agencies and substance abuse recovery centers, and speak at live events.

This transitional phase can be both exciting and overwhelming for young adults as they navigate the intricacies of gaining independence, making career choices, forging relationships, and finding their rightful place in the world. Amidst these challenges, many also face the complexities of managing anxiety, coping with depression, adjusting to the realities of ‘adulting,’ resolving roommate issues, and confronting substance use concerns. I provide a compassionate and supportive environment, offering practical guidance to help young adults navigate these multifaceted changes. My approach is designed to help overcome these obstacles, address emotional and mental health challenges, and foster a deep sense of purpose and direction.
